CAT Commands for the Yaesu FT-2000 and FT-2000D I have prepared 5 CAT command sequence files for my own use with the Yaesu FT-2000D and the User-defined Control feature of DXLab's Commander rig control software. These command sequence files contain the commands to set the default Menu values for all 149 items in the FT-2000's menu. Each file contains up to 32 commands that can be directly loaded into a User-defined Control button. When loaded the note next to each command is the same in appearance as the menu item on your rig. You can use these commands as a starting point to customize your own menu settings, in conjunction with the FT-2000 CAT Manual (bottom of page 6 thru page 8, EX section). You can then store them in a Commander User-defined Control button. You don't have to use all of the commands. Just the ones you want to modify for your own Custom Menu Settings. Once customized and stored it's reset your menu after a master reset on updating the rig's software. If you need any help setting specific values please let me know. Fly Fishing trip to McHenry, MD in May 2009

These are photos from our recent fly-fishing trip to McHenry in the western part of Maryland near the West Virginia border. We had an excellent guide from Sang Run Outfitters, our friend Danny Teets. It was a very successful and fun trip. We caught a lot of fish. These photos are the "Trout-of-the-trip" fish. My wife, Ann, caught an 18 inch Rainbow and I caught a 19 inch Brown. They were caught on the North branch of the Potomac River. As usual, my wife caught more fish than I did. She is an excellent fly-caster with a delicate touch.

Ham IV Rotor on homemade support plate

These photos show my refurbished Create Rooftop Tower. This month (July 2008) I made a new rotor support from angle aluminum, installed a new rotor and rotor cable, replaced the guy wires with Phillystran HPTG21001 (2100 lbs. breaking strength) and Phillystran Guy Grips hardware (These work very effectively like Chinese finger cuffs and are easy to install) and installed a new coax feedline. This 17 year old antenna is performing like new.
My station with my Ten-Tec Omni VII, Ameritron AL-800 amplifier, a Ten-Tec Model 238B tuner, a G3LIV Isoterm Multicon FSK Interface (for Digital modes and DVK SSB) and a WinKey serial keyer for CW. That's Maxie, my 12 year old (almost) Hahns Macaw sitting on my shoulder.
