Major downsizing changes coming to my station based on a new rig, a Ten-Tec 599 Eagle, and a new computer, an Apple MacBook Pro with Solid State Flash Drive.



This was my QRP Station in March 2003 with a Ten-Tec 516 Argonaut V
Note the similarities between the Argonaut and the Ten-Tec 599 Eagle
I sold the Argonaut V. It is a great radio and in my opinion has a better
receiver than the Pegasus. I just didn't use it much.

My station includes a Yaesu FT-2000D with DMU-2000 Data Management Unit and 3 RF micro-Tune Units, Ameritron AL-800 amplifier, a Ten-Tec Model 238B tuner, Custom serial port Computer Interface consisting of 2 modified Opto-Kits (for SO2V FSK RTTY, all other digital modes and DVK SSB) and a Serial WinKey keyer for CW.  The computer is a 5 year old home brew with an AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core Processor, 4 Gig of RAM (best computer I've ever owned).  Antennas are a 19 year old Mosley TA-53M for 6m, 10m, 12m, 15m, 17m, & 20m, an Alpha-Delta DX-A Twin Sloper for 30m & 160m and a Buckmaster OCF Dipole for 40m & 80m.

My station includes a new Yaesu FT-2000D, Ameritron AL-800 amplifier, a Ten-Tec Model 238B tuner, a microHAM microKEYER II Interface (for WinKey CW, SO2V Digital modes and DVK SSB).  The computer is a 5 year old home brew with an AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core Processor, 2 Gig of RAM, 3 high speed Western Digital Raptor hard drives (best computer I've ever owned).  Antennas are a 19 year old Mosley TA-53M for 6m, 10m, 12m, 15m, 17m, & 20m, an Alpha-Delta DX-A Twin Sloper for 30m & 160m and a Buckmaster OCF Dipole for 40m & 80m.

These photos show my refurbished Create Rooftop Tower.  This month (July 2008) I made a new rotor support from angle aluminum, installed a new rotor and rotor cable, replaced the guy wires with Phillystran HPTG21001 (2100 lbs. breaking strength) and Phillystran Guy Grips hardware (These work very effectively like Chinese finger cuffs and are easy to install) and installed a new coax feedline.  This 17 year old antenna is performing like new.

My station with my Ten-Tec Omni VII, Ameritron AL-800 amplifier, a Ten-Tec Model 238B tuner, a G3LIV Isoterm Multicon FSK Interface (for Digital modes and DVK SSB) and a WinKey serial keyer for CW. That's Maxie, my 12 year old (almost) Hahns Macaw sitting on my shoulder.
