Amateur Radio Ancient History of W2NRA
These are photos from the past including previous stations under several different callsigns.    My previous callsigns in order are KA2DZW, KB2NS, KG2A, AA4LC, WU2K and W2NRA.

My QRP Station in March 2003, pay no attention to the QRO box on the shelf.
Ten-Tec 550 Pegasus with LDG Electronics PT-11 Plus Auto Antenna Tuner
Ten-Tec 516 Argonaut V with LDG Electronics Z-11 QRP Auto Antenna Tuner
I recently sold the Argonaut V. It is a great radio and in my opinion has a better
receiver than the Pegasus. I just didn't use it much.
Note:  N4PY transceiver control software is on the screen.
WBL V2L & Schurr Profi II Paddles

Screen capture of N4PY, DXBase and DXAtlas software, all interacting.

N4PY's transceiver control for the Ten-Tec Pegasus and memories for LDG Electronics PT-11 Plus Automatic Antenna Tuner, Jupiter, Argonaut V, RX-350, RX-320, RX-331, or RX-340 is excellent and a lot of fun to use. It adds many features that are either not in the transceiver or are enhanced  by the software.  Yes, that is VP6DIA Ducie Island in the log.

Mosley TA53M 5 Band Beam
The Cushcraft R-7000 7 Band Vertical came down (my fault - I went up on the deck roof at the base of the antenna to make a minor adjustment and fell off the roof.  The antenna was so bent and badly damaged that I converted it to a 30m monoband vertical and put up an Alpha-Delta DX-A Twin Sloper for 30m, 40m, 80m & 160m.

This station was W2NRA circa 1997.  The top rigs are a NorCal 40A and a TenTec Argo, the bottom rig is a Kenwood TS-570.  Note the Mixed and CW Honor Roll plaques on the wall.  I fell off both Honor Rolls shortly after this due my inactivity and the addition of many new DXCC countries in the late 1990s early 2000s.  Also on the wall are 2 laminated DXCC certificates that I have misplaced.  I wish I could find them.

This station was WU2K circa 1992.  It is not QRO with only a 100 watt Ten-Tec Paragon 585 transceiver and no amp.

This station was KG2A circa 1980.  The rig is a Yaesu FT-901DM and the amp is a Collins 30L-1.

This is an LIDXA dinner.  Included on on this side of the table are Bob K2YGM, Art N2KA, Art KG2A (me), and Jesse (Jim) W2NJN.  The photo is dated April 1981 but I think it might be the holiday party, December 1980.

Here is a link to the
Long Island DX Association's autocall list dated Oct 1991 in Adobe Acrobat Reader format (phone numbers have been redacted):

This station was KG2A circa 1981.  The rig is a Collins KWM2A, the amp is an Alpha 76A and the QRP rig is a Ten-Tec Argonaut 515.  I never was able to master the Vibroplex bug keyer in this photo.  I've been using electronic keyers and/or keyboard software keying ever since.

This was my first beam as KG2A circa 1981.  Those are 60 foot trees and the photo give the illusion that the antenna is at or higher than the trees.  The antennal was well below them.

This was my General station as KA2DZW circa 1979.  The rig is a Kenwood TS-820 and the amp is a Kenwood TL-922A

This was my first Novice station as KA2DZW circa 1979.  I got my Novice license on 01/23/1979.  The rig is a Yaesu FT-101E.  I was a Novice for 66 days, a General 8 months 6 days, and an Advanced 4 months 4 days.  I didn't do much operating until I got my Amateur Extra on 04/09/1980.

This handsome young man is not a guest op, it's me at 33 in 1979.

I don't have pictures of many of the rigs I have owned.  A partial list includes  Drake:  TR-5, TR-7, Icom:  IC-751A, IC-765, Kenwood:  TS-120, TS-570D, TS-830, Ten-Tec:  Omni V, Omni VI, Yaesu:  FT-107M, FT-707, FT-757,FT-901DM, FT-1000D and FT-900.
